THE DARK DNA

      

DARK DNA is the genetic code in the human genome that currently has no original source .

We have traced 

8% of the genome from viruses 

1-2% from other animals 

55% from banana ( yes banana ) 

However , 20% of our genome is completely unaccounted for .

One interpretation is that the DARK DNA has undergone various mutation , which has caused its sequence to substantially different from the analogous genes of other animals  these mutations resulted in an increase of less detectable .

By this interpretation those area of " DARK DNA " may be mutational hotspot .

The discovery of DARK DNA is so recent that we are still trying to work out how widespread it is and whether it benefits the species that possess it or not .

However , it's very existence raises some fundamental questions about genetics and evolution , we may need to think again at how adaptation occurs at the molecular level . 

CONTROVERSIALLY " DARK DNA " MIGHT EVEN BE A DRIVING FORCE OF EVOLUTION .
